Suzanne Witt-Foley Professional Speaker & Educator
Hi! Yes, this is who I am... I am a dynamic and experienced speaker and educator, having created and delivered hundreds of presentations nationally. I have delivered over 150 Mental Health First Aid-Basic Courses alone and certified more than 3000 participants. Yes! this represents close to 10% of all Canadian courses delivered. Since January 2021 I have certified close to 800 virtual participants. Passionate to build understanding about mental health and addiction, I engage my audience by exploring our fast paced, toxically stressed culture and why now, more than ever, building relationships and community connectedness is essential to our wellbeing. As an innovator in knowledge exchange, training and education, I have over 25 years of experience in community development and capacity building.
Suzanne joins Dr. Gabor Mate at Grounding Trauma 2016 and speaks about "The Power of Connection"
"Suzanne delivers the information in a very clear, calm, and centered manner, and does an excellent job connecting with the participants and making everyone feel engaged."
I am a contributing author in a self-help book by Elke Scholz titled, "Anxiety Warrior”. In the book, I present a chapter on “The Power of Connection”.
"When we feel connected, included, and part of the group, our brain registers that we are safe. When we feel safety, it takes us out of stress response. Human beings are social animals — our brains are wired that way to ensure survival. We feel safety and security when we feel connected, nurtured, included, when we have people to care for and people who care about us; when we feel that we belong."
