Suzanne was employed as a community consultant for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) for over 16 years and has worked in a variety of other settings including a community health centre, public health and health planning across Ontario, and Eastern Canada. More recently, Suzanne has fulfilled contracts with the Trillium Lakelands District School board as the Mental Health Leader, with CAMH supporting the Simcoe Muskoka Transition Age Youth-System of Supports Initiative and provided Community Outreach Consultation for Addiction Outreach Muskoka Parry Sound.
Currently, Suzanne coordinates the Muskoka Strengthening Families program and is a Parent Education Facilitator with Muskoka Family Focus and Children's Place. Suzanne has also recently joined the Parent Action on Drugs Peer Education team and provides health promotion consultation services for HC Link Ontario. She instructs Mental Health First Aid training, Bridges Out of Poverty workshops and provide presentations on a variety of topics related to Addiction, Mental Health, Social Determinants of Health, Toxic Stress and Social Connectedness.
In partnership with the YWCA Muskoka she was recently hired to develop and implement 4 community workshops for service providers and 6 short presentations for municipal decision makers. Through a gender based lens, this project focused on the connection between living conditions in Muskoka and the impact on mental well-being. Suzanne volunteers her time in a variety of capacities. She participates on the Communications Advisory Committee for Big Brothers & Big Sisters Muskoka. She is a member of the Simcoe Muskoka Chronic Disease Prevention Advisory committee for the Local Health Integration Network and she has also been appointed to the Constituency Council for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. This province wide voluntary council is tasked with providing advice, insight and feedback to the organization, it's strategic plan and its Board of Trustees.
