What People Are Saying About the Workshops:
"Suzanne is passionate about how social factors like housing, income and social connectedness have a great influence on physical and mental health. That passion is so successfully communicated to participants like myself in her workshops that we are energized to take action in our own communities on these important issues."
Susan Lalonde Rankin
System Coordinator Mental Health and Addictions,
Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care
“I couldn’t recommend the course Suzanne teaches more highly. The reality is this: Whether you're in a helping profession or not, sooner or later someone you know and care about is going to face a mental health challenge or a mental health crisis. Are you ready to help?
Taking the Mental Health First Aid course is a big step along the path to being in a position to reach out in a meaningful way to someone who is struggling. The real bonus would be taking this course with Suzanne instructing. I've been in education for thirty years and this was the most enjoyable professional learning experience I think I've ever experienced. Suzanne demonstrates a remarkable talent for presenting ideas and concepts in an elegantly simple way. She brings a professionalism warmth and an engaging style in her role as facilitator. ”
-Doug McLean, Educator - Scott Young Public School, 2014
"I feel like this PD really acknowledged the people we spend most of our professional lives helping. I feel like I understand my students a bit better today than I did yesterday. Best, most useful PD session we've had in a long time. Thank you!"

Wonderful. Solid information. Excellent host and presenter.
Thank you!
This is one of the better conferences I have been to in a long time.
As a user of social services, this was an enlightening wonderful learning experience. A leap in the right direction.
Our agency (Public Health Unit) has been doing a lot of work around SDOH, but have not looked at the connections b/w SDOH and mental wellbeing. This seminar was very informative and I can’t wait to take back what I have learned.
Suzanne is very well informed, drawing on personal experience and statistics. Easy to listen to and respected in the community. Highlighted key areas in an insightful and inspiring way.
The information provided gave me leverage that I was able to use immediately. Highlighting the importance of community connectedness and social cohesion provided “ah-ha” moments and was inspiring and hopeful!
I will be recommending this workshop as a full staff training to my supervisor.
This workshop would be beneficial for SO many people. Anyone who works with others could gain valuable insights and receive a message of hope!
